However, the bigger job comes later. Phase 2 is planned for summer 2027. The resort says the gondola will be closed for most of that summer. The full control system is being replaced, which is the computer that runs the lift and its safety checks. Crews will also install new fiber-optic cable and reinforce some tower bases.

When Is the Last Day for K-1 Gondola Rides This Fall?

Monday, October 12 is the final day for scenic gondola rides this season. It is also the last day for bike park laps off K-1. So if your group is in town for foliage weekend, ride it now.

Will the K-1 Gondola Be Open for Winter 2026/27?

The resort says K-1 will be ready for day one of the winter season. As a result, ski and snowboard bachelor party trips can plan as usual. That includes World Cup weekend, November 27 to 29, which is always one of my busiest of the year.
